In 1966, Knox Foam was formed by a young man with an affluent background in sales and marketing who decided to start a business supplying foam to the do-it-yourself consumer. Like any ambitious entrepreneur, he found a good location, did his up front promotional work, and opened a small retail outlet called Knox Foam in a small building located on Central Ave. in Knoxville, Tennessee.

In the beginning, competition was scarce. The demand and supply of foam in this area was almost non-existent. However, the 70's brought many changes. People began realizing that foam had many uses. Especially when they could simply walk into a store and have it cut to almost any size they needed. People started replacing their worn cushions as opposed to replacing the entire piece of furniture. Foam bed toppers began being sold to make old mattresses more comfortable. The list of applications for foam just kept growing. As time went on, Knox Foam also kept growing to meet the demands of its customers. In the mid 1990's we started our own line of memory foam mattresses, bed wedges, pillows and other foam products. As the demand kept growing from the do-it-self consumer, we created our own in house sewing department. This gave us the capability to meets the needs of the customers who needed covers made for their custom cut foam.

Today, Knox Foam is better than ever. The internet has allowed us to help people all over the country.
